We are excited to announce that some changes are taking place with The Crawford Street Market for this summer. Those of you who were with us at the beginning will remember that we started as Art-See-Mart and let vendors set up tables and booths along the sidewalk on East Crawford Street. This provided some shelter and shade, and also gave easy access to The Gaslight Gallery for use of the restroom.
This summer, we are again moving the market back to that location. The market will occur each Saturday of June through September. Vendors will be invited to set up starting at 8:30 am, and to stay until 1:00 pm. Since The Gaslight Gallery is open until 2:30, vendors will be welcome to stay until then if they desire, though the market will be advertised as 9-1.
There is room on the sidewalk to set up a 10’ tent, but the city has requested we allow four feet of walking space for pedestrians. That means they may need to walk under the front of any tents, and displays will need to be four feet from the curb.
If you use a tent, please be prepared to anchor it securely, as the Crawford Street corridor sometimes is breezy. Please keep that in mind also for any displays.
Cost of a space this year will be $10, payable to The Gaslight Gallery. Attached is a contract. You will see that you can reserve a space for the entire summer, or for whichever weeks work for you. You can show up on any Saturday and register then, but if we know ahead who will be there, we can add you to our advertising.
We will advertise The Crawford Street Market on our web site, on our facebook page, in The Courier, and in area newspapers. We will post flyers around town, and clearly advertise the market.
All vendors are asked to have vendors licenses. Food vendors will need to meet local food license standards.
We look forward to working with you this summer, and giving you the opportunity to offer your work for sale. Please let us hear from you!
